After careful study of the boating and sailing sector, Ecopneus has developed a prototype of a new fender made from recycled rubber compounds and granules, in collaboration with technical partners Idea Plast and SPPlast.
The prototype is made with 20% recycled rubber from end-of-life tires and 80% Tyreplast compound, and it is fully recyclable. Efforts are underway to increase the recycled rubber content to 50% from end-of-life tires. The fender, weighing 1.8 kg, is a modular product that can be assembled according to specific uses (boat size, spaces, etc.). Currently, it is undergoing testing for subsequent certification.
